ABOUT
During the summer months Real Deal can be found in the North Devon port of Ilfracombe targeting various summer species such as Bass, Tope, Pollack, Huss, Rays, Mackerel, Smouthound and Blue, Porbeagle and Thresher sharks. The winters are spent in the ancient Somerset port of Watchet fishing mainly for Cod, Rays, Spurdogs and Whiting.
Reel Deal III
The Boat - 11m Swiftcat
Reel Deal III is a brand spanking new 11.5m Swift Cat. Her advanced twin hull design combines speed, stability and excellent sea keeping ability to make her the ideal fishing platform. Powered by two Suzuki 325hp outboards the vessel has achieved top speeds well in excess of 30Kts and an easy cruise speed of 20 - 25Kts ensuring less travel time and more fishing time.
The wheelhouse is equipped with the latest navigation and fish finding technology couple this with the skippers vast experience and you are guaranteed a great days fishing.
There is a side opening door in the hull to enable easy boarding, an on-deck WC and full cooking facilities.
Reel Deal III is fully licensed and insured to carry up to 12 passengers + 2 crew 60 nautical miles from a safe haven.
Dan Hawkins
The Skipper
Dan Hawkins is a fully licensed skipper and experienced angler who has been around boats and a keen fisherman since an early age. Dan started fishing from Ilfracombe at the tender age of 5 with well Known local skipper Dave Clemence. Further experience was gained aboard various charter & commercial boats fishing for herrings and potting for lobster and crab with other well known denizens of the Ilfracombe fishing industry John & Eric Barbeary.
Unfortunately work got in the way from the age of 17 but Dan continued to fish from various ports until launching his own charter boat business at Watchet Marina in 2014 with a 28ft aqua bell (formally Fulmar of Minehead) progressing to a brand new fast catamaran in 2015 and in 2018 to an 11m Swiftcat.
